Ruby on Rails Best Practices

Now you'll know what "good practices" in writing rails apps are!

This class topic is by popular demand :).

I'll cover some Ruby & Rails programming patterns and best practices. Some areas we'll cover include:

  • fat model / skinny controller
  • how to use helpers
  • good syntax
  • what type of code to put where
  • object oriented programming with ruby

If we get more time, I'll also more generally cover: how to frame a problem and get started on it!

Be sure to complete the following Codewars challenge before class! (If your RailsSchool profile includes your Codewars username, you'll get a nifty star if you complete the challenge.)
