Elasticsearch and Rails

Use the Chewy gem to easily index and query your Rails data

Make sure Elasticsearch is set up on your laptop. You can install it with homebrew, apt-get, or manually.

To know if it's working correctly:

$ curl 'http://localhost:9200/?pretty'

You should see "status" : 200.

Please also have Ruby and Rails installed on your laptops.

The class will be broadcast on Hangouts on Air at https://plus.google.com/events/crjshf421uj4dh5gaaj2efrl4m4.

Be sure to complete the following Codewars challenge before class! (If your RailsSchool profile includes your Codewars username, you'll get a nifty star if you complete the challenge.)
